Jiantao Jiao is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) and the Department of Statistics at the University of California, Berkeley. He also holds the position of Director of Research and Distinguished Scientist at NVIDIA.

As a serial entrepreneur, he focuses on enterprise software and AI infrastructure. His research covers the full stack of Generative AI, including efficient large-scale pre-training, post-training methodologies, algorithmic innovation, synthetic data generation, inference optimization, hardware acceleration, and the development of agentic systems.
